NICE guidance yields better concordance and follow‑up adherence than EAU for low/intermediate NMIBC in UK practice

In a UK survey of 174 clinicians, units most often followed NICE (38%) while individuals most often reported following EAU (39%). Clinicians using NICE had higher concordant risk stratification (77.1%) versus those using EAU (34.1%). NICE adherence was associated with greater compliance with recommended surveillance duration (78.9% vs 49.2% for EAU). The study highlights substantial real‑world variation and supports harmonized, clearer NMIBC guidance to reduce inequities. 1

Pivotal device trials report basic demographics but seldom embed equity or representativeness analyses

This scoping review included 74 pivotal device studies, most (68/74) randomized, and found universal age and sex reporting. Race/ethnicity was reported in only 35.1% of trials and PROGRESS‑Plus variables in 9.5%. Only 2.7% explicitly framed equity in trial design or analysis, and none performed population benchmarking or representativeness checks. These deficits limit external validity and argue for stronger EDI integration in device trial design, recruitment, and analysis. 2

MFS correlates with OS at patient level after salvage prostatectomy; BRFS does not

In 879 men undergoing salvage radical prostatectomy, 3‑year metastasis‑free survival showed strong patient‑level association with 5‑year overall survival (Kendall's τ 0.85). Three‑year biochemical recurrence‑free survival had weaker patient‑level association (Kendall's τ 0.63) and is not a validated surrogate. At the centre level neither 3‑year MFS nor BRFS predicted 5‑year OS with sufficient explanatory power. Authors caution centre‑level, single‑arm, retrospective limitations and call for prospective validation before adopting MFS as a surrogate. 3
